Ethan's arm...

The reader's digest version of our summer saga! On June 17th Ethan was crawling around on the outside of the safety net (hmmm) of the trampoline and Isaac pushed him off (another hmmm). And such actions lead us to our first broken bones!!

He didn't even cry! He just came in saying, " I know I broke my bone, I definately broke my bone!" I said, "You sure did, you go for a ride with Daddy." Nick even asked for the insurance card on the way out the door- my hero!

Granny Loree came over to watch the kids and by the time I got to the hospital Ethan already had an IV, pain killers, and was in a room! Needless to say, the ER staff was FANTASTIC and Ethan was so brave! He broke his radius and ulna (always a go getter) the two bones in the forarm. This is the cast that he got two weeks later, glow in the dark dinosaurs! They didn't want him to have any rotation of the elbow, so for 6 weeks the cast went from the middle of his upper arm to his fingers. We had to go in every 4 times for xrays to make sure that the bone was healing properly and rule out surgery.
So, our pool-less summer began with lots of museum trips and no trampoline time for anyone over 4 years of age:) Ethan's second cast was finally removed the week before school started and he got the go-ahead to be splint free this week!

Oh, my word- poor guy! But good job at staying so calm. Robin's little Jessie broke her arm last summer while I was visiting them. She was only 3! I am glad he's okay.
